A mention/review of PussyGutt and Alter from the blog omgvinyl.

If you saw the name “Pussygutt” in the post title and you are still reading then these two pieces of vinyl might be just what you are looking for. Pussygutt and Alter (featuring members of Pussygutt) both dabble in a brand of doom that relies as much on emotional heft as amplifier distortion. Not many snare drums or bass pedals to be found here; what you do get is some cinematic, moody music accentuated with some huge, fuzzy guitar riffs. Easy music to fall in love with… and then slit your wrists to. You can listen to both bands at their respecitve MySpace sites (alter and pussygutt).
